It has been more than a week since Ramadan started! Beginning the month meant that my daily routines would have to be tweaked and I braced myself for the change in my level of productivity.

Why? Since we have to eat before dawn, we wake up at 4.30 AM to have our meal.

    🌅 Morning Routine

I used to feel super groggy and tired but I found my routine which is to:

    ✔️ Sleep early

✔️ Have my cup of coffee in the morning

    ✔️ Vitamins & a kiwi

Since I received my 7 hr of sleep, I don’t feel tired enough to fall back asleep after a full meal.

    🏁 Ways I’ve remained productive:

🐸 Eat the frog & Time blocking

I try to create my day’s schedule using the time blocking method the night before. This helps me to have clarity instead of relying on my memory at 4 am in the morning. Another method I used is called ‘Eat the frog’. This means that I place the most unpleasant tasks at the beginning of my day’s schedule. We can agree that we all procrastinate, but by tackling the most challenging tasks first, we get it out of the way so it doesn't linger over you and drain your energy throughout the day.

    💤 20 mins power nap

I take a short 10 – 20 mins power nap during lunch time to help recharge my energy level. It's long enough to allow me to rest but short enough that I don't enter into deep sleep.

    🥝 Nutritious food

After 13 hours of not eating, you’d crave the greasiest and guilty pleasure foods. I try my best to limit that because they literally screw my tummy the day after. I have eggs every meal and try my best to avoid processed foods. Staying hydrated is also crucial and I would make sure to drink at least 1.5L of water before going to sleep.
