I recently attended 3 different floral design courses as I’m planning on starting a small business selling flowers and polymer clay earrings (future post coming up on this so stay tuned!)
Here is some information of all 3 courses and which course is best for your needs (if you’re interested in attending any floral design courses ◡̈) I have also showcased all my work, flowers which are conditioned and arranged by me!
🌸 Flowers by Terra – 3 day florist commercial course
– Course duration is 3 days (22 hours in total)
– This course covers fresh flower bouquet, bridal bouquet, Korean flower basket, table arrangement, large arrangement
– Price is $1000 (can claim $500 skills future credits!)
– This course is a group class and it was really nice getting to know the other people who are interested in floral design
– Overall this course was very insightful as Sarah covers not only the basic techniques of floral design but also the business aspect of running a floral business
– It’s a good introduction for those who want to start a small business selling fresh flowers ◡̈
– I always look forward to her classes as I get to take home all my arrangements and they are VERY generous with the flowers provided
– We were also able to choose our own flowers for some arrangements ◡̈
– Who should attend this course? I highly recommend this course to those who would like to start a fresh flower small business as there are business aspects that are covered eg where to go to buy flowers and how to choose the freshest flowers etc ◡̈

🌸 Le Blanc Florist – basic preserved floral course A
– Course duration is 1 day, about 5-6 hours
– This course covers small and large preserved flower bouquets, and preserved flower dome
– Price is $300
– Overall this course covers all the basic preserved flower techniques such as making a fake stem for preserved flowers
– We get to choose the colour theme for the arrangements beforehand ◡̈
– We also get to choose any wrapping paper we wanted for the bouquets
– This course is a 1 to 1 course! You’ll have the florist’s undivided attention and they’re also open to answering any questions you may have ◡̈
– The florist was really nice to also provide information on where to get preserved flowers!
– I highly recommend this course for those who want an introduction to preserved flowers and also basic techniques for preserved flowers and wrapping techniques!

🌸 Botany Studio – vase arrangement
– Course duration is 1 day about 1-1.5 hours
– This course covers vase arrangement only
– Price is $88
– Overall this course is insightful for techniques for vase arrangement, it was also very fast and a good practice session ◡̈
– The course duration is short compared to the other two but the florist was able to cover basic conditioning techniques, vase arrangement techniques and information about flower care
– This is also a group class and I saw many couples and groups of friends going for the session together!
– I highly recommend this course for those who are just starting out with floral design, hobbyists who are looking for a beginner level course at an affordable price or anyone who just wants to do a fun activity with their loved ones ◡̈
