MY TOP 3 products for piercing aftercare 📌
if you’re like me and love getting piercings or plan to get another one soon, here are my top 3 products that have helped prevent infections and keloids for my piercings! my most recent piercing is my industrial (around 2+ months now) and the swelling stopped really fast after i used these products !!
⚠️disclaimer: everyone’s body is different so be mindful when using these! they might not be 100% effective for everyone and if infection persists, please see your piercer or a doctor!
1. 0.9% NaCl saline solution (from Guardian)
you can find a bottle of NaCl i don’t have a pic of it 😭 but if you ask the staff they should know! me and my gal @t.debs split one bottle into 4-5 spray bottles and it’s super easy to use the solution with the spray bottles! what i usually do is spray on my piercings and also on a Q-tip and then clean the front and back of the piercing!
alternatively, you can get the small bottles
2. Hansaplast Wound Spray
this was recommended by another friend with a lot of piercings and i can say it really works!! it made the swelling go down a lot
i usually just spray it on my piercings before i go out and before i go to bed! my other friends also use it for body piercings like navel piercings and so far their piercings have not been infected and have been healing fast!
3. tea tree oil – i’m not sure if this will work for everyone (or if it’s even recommended 🤭🫢) but i used tea tree oil to dry up (unbroken) blisters in the past, so i used them on my piercings when they were super swollen and it actually went away! if you feel using tea tree oil directly on the skin is too strong you can spray saline (no. 1) on a Q tip, then drip some tea tree oil on the Q tip then dab the piercing (front and back) with it! the saline will help dilute the tea tree oil
