I quit my first FT job just after 2 months… yes its really premature but i decided that my #mentalhealth is more important than money.

These two months were very draining & i came back from work everyday feeling defeated. I broken down about 10x times (yes i counted) & my anxiety increased so much i think i gotten ptsd (not even jk, pls help). I also have not had a night where i went to sleep peacefully as I'm always worried.

I kept telling myself that i just had to adapt better & that there are probably worse places out there but it didn't get better, it progressively got worse for me, i was even lazy to bring my dog out for her walk , which says A HELL LOT if you knew me🙃 i exercised much lesser & when i go do, im like zombie & i just always have this urge to check my phone incase i miss any messages. I even passed on going out for dinner after work at my fave places just because i can't relax & i really rather go home & be on standby incase🫠

Although i listed a few reasons, the MAIN one would be micromanaging culture. Its really on another level, my friends & parents have never seen anything like it😤 i find it very inefficient & it is affecting the way i put out my work as i don't feel that im able to put in my ideas. Its a very dictatorial place. Shoutings are also common which adds on to my anxiety & overall i dont feel that anyone deserves to work in such a place. I think one reason that i felt more assurance on leaving was that my dad was supportive, he overheard my meeting once & another time i had a mini meltdown in front of him & it was enough for him to tell me its just a job & i shld quit.

There were red flags before i even started but i guess i was blindsighted by the pay as it is higher than what an average fresh grad gets…

    Tips:

    – ALWAYS CHECK GLASSDOOR

    – go onto linkedin & look at how long the current employees have been there, if you can't find someone that surpasses 2 years, thn its sth to think about

    – Notice period , if the notice period is longer than usual, it might also be a warning

I would gladly elaborate on my experience (i keep screenshots) if you really wanna know more! But rn, im focusing on gaining bck my sanity & recharging myself so i can be at my 100% for wherever i head to next
