As promised, this is a follow up post on on my lemon8 journey as a faceless, non-influencer.
I didn’t have a large Instagram or TikTok account that I could “pull” followers from and over to lemon8:
▪️ I created my @livingsmall.ig Instagram account this year. Learned how to do IG stories and reels for the first time in 2023 lol 🤡
▪️ Don’t even talk about TikTok bc I only created my account last month!
Choosing the faceless route is defo harder for growth bc showing your face helps your audience remember you, humanises your brand etc.
But if you’re new to content creation or decide that privacy is your priority, here are some tips that I hope come in handy ❤️
1️⃣ If you’re not showing a hot body or a pretty face, it becomes even more important to add value:
▪️ Show it through your thought process or unique perspectives 💭
▪️ Show that you care about your audience: Give them easily digestible info, things that they can immediately put into action, things that will benefit their life. Entertain them, give them knowledge.

2️⃣ Personalise your content even if you’re not showing your face:
▪️ Include parts of your body in photos to show your presence in the scene
▪️ It might be tempting to use stock photos that look perfect, but that depersonalises your content
▪️ Make your posts recognisable through e.g. colours, fonts, design styles 🎨

3️⃣ If you’re new to creating content, know that posts WILL flop.
What matters more is that you keep posting. Let’s put things into perspective:
▪️ If you create e.g. 1 post per week, you’ll be quite affected by how well it performs
▪️ If you create e.g. 3 posts per week, then it doesn’t matter as much, right? 💪🏼
▪️ If you create e.g. 5 posts per week, you literally have NO TIME to care about posts flopping bc you’re too busy working on more posts 🤡

4️⃣ Be willing to make sacrifices
General rule of thumb on any social media platform is to keep up with your post frequency.
I don’t think I’m the best role model bc I take 1-2 weeks hiatus every month (GIRL HERE NEEDS HER REST 😅), but the main point is… I’ve consistently created 20 posts / month for 6 months.
Yes it takes a lot of time and you’ll be sacrificing sleep, leisure time etc. So if you enjoy posts by a creator, pls like / comment.
It’s free and means a lot to us 🤪

5️⃣ General actionable tactics
▪️ Choose post ideas based on lemon8’s campaigns, topics recommended on @Lemon8_SG or DMs sent by lemon8. These are topics that the platform wants to see more of 👀
▪️ Utilize hashtags: Use up to 10 for max exposure but ONLY if they’re relevant. Check out the explore page for popular hashtags.
▪️ Get good at captions / hooks: E.g. Top 5 xxx, cost savings of $xxx. Being dramatic helps but NOT if your post content is gonna be a letdown after you hype your audience up.

Just wanna end off with a lil encouragement: If I can do it as a faceless non-influencer who does not even do content full-time, SO CAN YOU ❤️
But hey, if it gets tiring to focus on growth, it’s ok to create content that makes you happy. E.g I sometimes use lemon8 for my personal introspection. Not everything has to be for growth 😝
