Hey Lemon8! Its been almost 5 months since my last post here, where did I go? I somehow started rapidly growing on TikTok and I have since taken content creation there more seriously. But I am here today to share some things I have learnt during my crazy journey that I hope will be a reminder not just for myself but for anyone who does content creation.

    1) Be Kind Always. 🤍

I have been in the media industry for awhile and have experienced both sides of working with influencers/content creators and now being one. Trust when I say that being polite and respectful goes a long way, it just makes everything go smoother and you will build better relationships with those you get to work with. If things eventually do turn sour, you will know it was not your fault and you can back off when you feel the need to. At the end of the day, the brands and companies you work with are also human and just like how we wouldn't want others to judge us, we should not judge them.

    2) You Start Seeing True Colours. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Let's face it, some people just don't enjoy seeing you become successful because it makes them inferior. And well, that's totally fine because those people will not be sticking around anymore. Your growth and success should not be questioned when you solely worked hard to get to where you are. It might be sad and overwhelming when you start to realise some people were never what they seem, so step back, reflect and think about your next move. Remember, those who care will always find a way to support you during your high and low points.

    3) When The Numbers Start To Matter, Reflect. 🌾

Creating content is now one of the jobs I do the most while studying. When you create and post, you always hope for the best – reaching FYPs, getting likes and shares etc. It starts to become a game in our minds, especially when it comes to content that you are being paid to do. Of course, driving great numbers for paid content is a dream for every content creator since it shows your prowess at being creative and seamless. But remember that brands understand that risk, and it was a risk they were willing to take with you as a content creator. It is also important to not compare yourself to others, and when you begin to feel uneasy, put your phone down and step away.

    4) Remember Your Intentions and Goals. ✨

Continuing from my previous point, it's always important to always ask yourself why you started creating your niche content? For me, I always wanted to see more of my body type on the internet, I wanted people to know that they can wear what they want without needing to try and “fit in”. That has always been my intention. So when the numbers start messing with me, and I feel demotivated, it really is important for us to go back to the space of when we first started out. If we could do all these without worrying about numbers then, why can't we do it now too?

These are just some thoughts I have had the past few months, I am happy to discuss them below 🙂 Also, I hope I can start posting more regularly on here and use it as a special place to connect with the local audience!! 🤍 Have a great day 🥰
