I joined lemon8 in Feb this year. After 7 months of consistently posting (took a few week hiatus in June), I am surprised to see that I have hit 1 million impressions from the weekly creators report. 🎉

Being rather new to this content creator game, I have collated some tips which I thought worked for me.

Look out for the current lemon8 events/hashtag challenge on the explore page! It helps me a lot when thinking of what to share and how to frame my content angle too!

3️⃣ **Be Informative and Share Experiences:**

It find that my content that offers value tends to perform well. Share informative and educational content that addresses people’s interests or pain points. I am also learning how to be more open to share my personal experiences, which can be more compelling and relatable. I truly enjoy the #myPOV and #AdultingWoes content shared by many in the community.

I consider myself quite adventurous, especially with food. I stumbled upon a skewer (串串) store near Farrer Park and decided to try their skewers. They were nicely seasoned and tasted really good. While browsing their online menu, I noticed silkworm pupae listed at the bottom and, out of curiosity, decided to give it a try. I was surprised to see it served as I don't recall silkworm pupae being an FDA-approved dish in Singapore. (Few months later, I discovered an article on Channel NewsAsia that it wasn't legal.)

It had a nutty flavor and burst in your mouth! 🤢 Also, the texture of the shell resembled the shell of a prawn. It wasn't something I'd crave, but it was an interesting experience. It costs $20 for one dish. However, I felt very dizzy and nauseous about 10 to 15 minutes after leaving the store, and ended up vomiting everything I had eaten. I wouldn't recommend anyone to try it, but at least I can say I gave it a shot! 🥹

For the gorlies who are embarrassed to go out and show someone else your coochie (the waxing lady) don’t be afraid! After going for over a year, here’s my tips!!

⚠️ Did you know the shaving increases the chance of getting ingrown hairs by.. A LOT

⚠️ Ingrown hairs turn into swollen red bumps and hurt alot, and in some cases can get INFECTED 🤮 and very painful. when it gets really bad you’d have to take antibiotics from the doc and get it surgically removed..

⚠️ Ingrown hairs will make your waxing experience more painful as ur skin is more sensitive

⚠️ You will have to get the ingrown hairs plucked out manually! Super painful if you leave it for super long!!

🌸 Pros of waxing

– reduced ingrown hairs

– hair takes a longer time to grow back! for some ppl it grows back thinner too

– less bumpy / rough skin, it will be soft and baby smooth 😭😭

– lesser chance of seeing your dark hairs trapped under your skin (like shaving!)

🔥 Cons of waxing

– It can be painful, make sure to go after your period is over and not before!! Otherwise your skin is extra sensitive (it eventually will become bearable pain!)

– more expensive than shaving (duh) probably $40 a session!

– painful if you have a lot of ingrown

tip: find a good waxing lady that will tweeze your ingrown hair instead of leaving it alone! and these ladies have seen like many many coochies a day of all ages so.. don’t need to paiseh 😂

hi loves, if y’all need some inspiration to plan for your bf’s birthday, then this post is for you! as i have exams next week, i could not plan for a whole day of activities but i still wanted it to be special so here’s what i did!

🎂cake:

so for the cake, i preordered a bento cake from IG @breadwith_butter (my goto bento cake shop for all my friends' bdays) 2 weeks before so it could arrive on time for the big day! (a tip would be to make the necessary arrangements early to avoid last min cancellations)

🍽️dinner:

i reserved 3 restaurants in advance as i couldn’t decide on where to go😅 but i ended up settling on Bedrock Origins at Oasis Resort Sentosa (a Skytrain ride from Vivocity to Imbiah station). so to surprise him, i made a dinner invitation letter on Canva, printed it out, and placed it in an envelope (gift no. 1️⃣)

🍿activity:

thankfully, there were a lot of movies screening atm and so i booked movie tickets online for Transformers! i then redesigned the ticket on Canva and placed it in another envelope (gift no. 2️⃣)

🎁gift:

for the gifts, i wanted it to be personalised and so i ordered a custom 3D photo lamp of us! (gift no. 3️⃣) for the second gift, i made a video which compiled all our memories since the day we met and uploaded it onto a thumbdrive (gift no. 4️⃣)

📝plan:

i told him that i was studying for exams and didn’t have much time to plan anything and so we settled on a casual meal at vivo🤪when we reached, i passed him the bag of gifts labeled no. 1️⃣-4️⃣ and asked him to open them in order starting from no. 1️⃣ which showed the dinner invitation to a fancy restaurant. (he was 😨 as he thought we were having a casual meal)

after our meal, i asked him to open gift no. 2️⃣ which showed the movie plan after dinner. (he was 😨 again as he thought i had to leave after dinner) while we were chatting, i unboxed the bento cake under the table which i hid in my bag. after lighting up the candles underneath, i pull up the bento cake and sang him a birthday song. (the man was 😱 beyond words 😂😂)

when we’re done with the movie which was hella good btw, we went home and i told him to open gift no. 3️⃣ which he loved so yay🥰. we ended the night by watching the video (gift no. 4️⃣) which almost made him tear up but he didn’t 🙃

anyways that’s everything i did for his birthday! it wasn’t much but it was my best effort with my current time😭 i hoped this would give y’all some ideas on what to do and good luck with your planning!

these cargos are from likka.sg (on ig!) and i managed to get the last one in stock 🤭 i chose to size up to size s so it would jave a low waisted fit and baggier look & feel 👖🙈

1. 1 inch rule

the key to making your waist look smaller is making sure the pants sit about 1-1.5inch below your navel! this way it creates an hourglass look ⌛️👀 without looking too oddly low on your hips.

2. length of jeans!

these cargos are also longer in length and ideally! they cover my shoes so it also creates a lengthened look on my legs (legs for DAYYYS).

3. baggy pants 👖

baggy pants also contrasts very well with a tight top to give the illusion of a smaller upper body and waist. these pants just sit so well and immediately gave me a snatched and slimmer look 😛🫶

I been wanting to try tooth gem for quite sometime after seeing them on social media, so I decided to give it a good old DIY approach! 🦷💎 Since it was a success, let me share with you my steps to achieving it!

1️⃣ Prepping the Tooth: Give your teeth a good scrub, rinse away any toothpaste remnants, and that is step 1!

2️⃣ Clean and Dry, My Friend: Grab the fancy cotton cloth provided, and give your teeth a little pat dry.

3️⃣ Unleash the Glue Magic: With the applicator wand, work your glue-dabbing skills and put a teeny-tiny droplet of glue on the spot where you want to place the gem. Remember, small amount (like really tiny) we're going for chic, not gooey!

4️⃣ Bling It On: Grab that gem you like and carefully place it on the glue-covered tooth. Your smile is about to level up!

5️⃣ Let There Be UV Light: Hold the lamb as close as you can without touching the tooth and let it work its magic. This helps set the glue and secure your gem in place.

6️⃣ Cleanup Party: ALL DONE! Once it is set, just take care of your teeth like how you normal do and regularly! Be sure to brush well under and around the gem regularly, as that area can become more prone to decay if not taken care of.

•Matte powder formula that minimally blurs pores, but doesn’t have too much fallout so you can tell the powder is quite finely milled!

(There’s really not much to say about the finish if we’re being honest hahaha it’s defo an above average powder blush)

{Colour}

•AHHH SO PRETTY!!

•There are 3 shades, and you can definitely pick which you want to use depending on your mood/look, but I like using it all mixed tgt 😛

•It’s a nice pink-mauve shade that isn’t too light (when mixed at least) and gives a somewhat natural flush with a little extra hint of pigment – like my cheeks but BETTER? 🤪✌🏼

•They have a few other variations in this same line but those seemed more warm toned so I didn’t get those too… I think ‘De Mauve’ is the only more cool-toned one 🙂

•I think it’s quite cool toned BUT can still be rocked by warmer toned gals when used lightly!

{Longevity}

•I was surprised that this lasted all day!!! Granted my average day is mostly spent in the office, but some blushers can’t even last through the minimal outdoor walking and perspiration yknow🙂
