I know credit cards can get confusing sometimes – and there are so many out there! 😩😢 Today I’m going to break down the DBS Vantage card, as well as share some alternatives and comparisons which will hopefully help provide some clarity. Do note that everything that I share is for informational purposes and it is not financial advice. Please be sure to consult a financial professional and conduct your own due diligence. Let’s delve into it! 😇

Let’s begin by comparing the income requirements of the HSBC Revolution and DBS Vantage. The HSBC Revolution requires an annual income of 30,000 while the Vantage Card targets individuals with a higher income of 120k; it also has a significantly higher annual fee, only waivable with a minimum spend of 60k per year.

Now let's get into the miles per dollar comparison. The Vantage Card offers 1.5% miles per dollar or 1.5% cash back and 2.2 miles per dollar or 2.2% cash back, with an elevated perk of 6 miles per dollar on Expedia booking (need to use their specialised link to book). When it comes to local online and contactless spending (see link in bio for cheatsheet), the HSBC Revolution Card takes the lead 👑 with 4 miles per dollar for the first $1K eligible spending.

Member perks are where the Vantage Card stands out. You are entitled to 10 complimentary lounge visits annually PLUS a one-night complimentary Accor Plus Explorer membership, giving you one free hotel stay a year, which is pretty awesome 😎When you consider the annual fee of the Priority Pass and Accor Plus membership, you actually get more value than what you paid for! Super worth! 🙇‍♀️💸

If you spend 4K within 30 days of card approval date and pay the annual fee of S$594, you'll receive an extra welcome bonus of 60k miles as a new-to-DBS credit card holder and 40K miles as an existing cardholder. 😌 The DBS Vantage card works very well for those who want to earn miles for business class tickets as you are able to get miles for excluded items like income tax, insurance, mortgage, rental, domestic helper salary via Cardup.

In short, if you are looking for a card for the bougie life of business class tickets and lounge passes, Vantage is definitely adVantageous for you 🙌

Alternatively, if you're looking for 4 miles per dollar on online and contactless spending, the HSBC Revolution Card is your go-to. If you prefer miles that don't expire and don't spend or travel extensively such that 2 lounge pass per year is enough for you, the DBS Altitude Card or CitiPremier Miles Card might be more suitable options for you. 🤩👍

Hope this helps! Don’t forget to LIKE, SHARE, and FOLLOW for more!! 🙌❤️
