✨YES✨
I managed to get myself a salary increase of >20% from my previous pay 💰💰💰
This experience is my own, and I wanted to share what I did, and how I think it helped me achieve my expected salary ask 📝💡
💡 I believe I was being paid the basic market rate at my previous job and had little wiggle room. All I could negotiate back then was an extra $100 for transport since I worked weekends and late nights 🥲🥲
🌈 Moving on to my current employment, they gave me the opportunity to state my expected salary! I told them what it was, and the reasons how $$$ = what I deserve! tbh being a woman in STEM is tough 🤘🏼😛 but yey I did it #GirlTalk
✅ I’m thankful in this case, the company’s benefits outweighed what I expected lol, so I did not feel the need to negotiate those terms!
⚖️ Note! ⚖️
Always remember that the HR’s role is to strike a balance between the candidate’s expectations and company’s overall budget/ market conditions!
Be kind and friendly when negotiating salary and benefits with your potential future HR!
if you’ve read this far,
THANK YOU!
