HOW TO RESOLVE AN ARGUMENT WITH YOUR PARTNER!

helloo!! maintaining a relationship isn’t easy, and arguments are DEFINITELY unavoidable. one wrong statement or action could shatter even the strongest of relationships and bring months of happy memories to shreds 🙁

but don’t worry because we are here to help HEHEHE 😋 my boyfriend and i have known each other since we were 13 (we are 18 now) and it definitely wasn’t easy at first. we had A LOT (and i mean a lot) of big arguments and petty fights at the start but now i can confidently say that our bond is going strong ✨ i even feel that the fights we had in the past were crucial in shaping us to who we are today 😉

sooo how did we do it? firstly and most importantly both of you should have mutual respect, understanding and empathy for each other. it’s never gonna work out if one or both of you are stubborn, egoistic and/or toxic. you’re not gonna be in the right for every situation.. and even if you are, sometimes it’s better to just be the bigger person, put your emotions aside and forgive 🥹 remember to be open minded and think in the shoes of your partner too! how would you feel if the situation was reversed instead?

also, always try to follow this rule of thumb, which is never to go to sleep or end the day when the argument is still unresolved. buildups of emotions can be very risky ⚠️ with that being said, it’s also a case by case basis, eg if things are getting too heated maybe it would be better if the both of you agree to sleep on it and talk again the next day when you’re both feeling calmer and can think straight 🪽

NEXXTTT is talking it out! we always try to put our feelings aside and think with a clear head to avoid saying things that we don’t mean in the heat of the moment. structure your points reasonably to help your partner understand why you were upset! and make sure to be gracious and don’t hold grudges because keeping it in will build up and explode eventually and we don’t want that 🥲🥲

and lastly to prevent the recurrence of such situations, make sure to discuss your boundaries with your partner! make it a point to remember what triggered them this time round and don’t repeat the same mistake again. ask them what you can do to make up for it and make them feel better! forgive and move on because the happy memories are always worth way more than the bad ones ✨✨

and i hope these little tips helped hehe :> these are some ways that we resolve our disagreements! feel free to leave your tips in the comments too 🩷🩷
