To make things clear, girl (me) is the boss, boy (him) was my employee.
Dating your boss isn’t something ANYONE would actually think would happen or at least not most of the time. I myself did not expect that I would too, until I met him. How we got together is another story.
I started a fnb business in jan this year and he joined around early feb. As it was a startup business with my brother, things can get stressful for me. I often complain to him about work and it felt as though all we talked about was work, work and work.
Going out on dates seemed nearly impossible. I had to be in the shop everyday for 12hrs. He had time coz he was working part time. We had to plan the date a week in advanced, making sure that there will be part timers to cover my shift.
Then there is the possibility of favouritism, others may think that i give him a lot more shifts so that i can spend more time with him but that’s wasn’t the case. (He was still studying at that time.) He was afraid they might quit working haha
Because he is my employee and also my bf, he tried to help me out during work a lot. We both worries about each other most of the time. Whether both of us have enough rest or not. Being a business owner is not an easy job, thinking about how to improve my business is a 24/7 job and it is my responsibility to make my business grow. I am very thankful that he is there to help me, giving me an hour or two to take a quick nap.
Overall, i would say that dating him is the right choice i’ve made in a few years (many toxic exes). I’m glad that the other part timers were actually supportive about us.
