it’s been about a year since i started to commit myself into this #vlogging journey and i’m so glad that i’ve done it, with the encouragement of my friends and family! i’ve always love capturing moments in action but often dread the process of editing. are you like me too? if yes, this is my way of telling you that you should stop hesitating and START MAKING it happen by taking this very first step! 😁

    — WHAT YOU WILL NEED 🖊️

this might be a surprise to you, but really all you need is just these 2 things: your phone/ camera and tablet/ laptop! these 2 things will allow you to film and edit your vlogs at ease regardless of its brand and model! 📹unless you already have a specific one in mind and are intending to commit to it for a long time, i’d suggest sticking with your current devices (such as your phone) to test the waters!

    — FINDING THE RIGHT EDITING SOFTWARE 🤔

thanks to the power of technology, we can now make all of these high-quality and visually appealing videos at the touch of a button, and at no cost! most of these editing softwares are usually friendly for beginners as well so i definitely recommend exploring as many softwares as possible and find the one that fits you best! 😎

📌 ps: there are also tutorial videos on how to use these editing softwares and apps so do not fear the editing process and the uncertainty behind it!

however, for this post, i’ll share with you the editing software i used to edit my #vlog , which is VLLO ! among all its brilliant features, the one that really sold it for me is the project share function, which allows me to share my vlog project and work on it simultaneously on my iphone and ipad! this is a huge advantage as i can select the clips i want to edit on my iphone and once that’s done, i’ll edit it on my ipad through that function! how cool is that right? however, one disadvantage is that this project sharing feature is one of the features that’s exclusively for premium users. hence, i’ve decided to pay for its subscription yearly to test its effectiveness! there are also other subscriptions options such as weekly, monthly and lifetime, but i’d suggest you to test out the app first before hastily making a decision to go for the lifetime option! 🖥️

    — NEED INSPO FOR YOUR VLOGS? 👀

prior to making this vlog, i’d been making them for a few years and had watched many vlogs posted by youtubers from various niches, such as lifestyle and study/uni. i usually subscribe to youtubers whose content i enjoy and save some of their favorite videos into a playlist as inspiration for my vlogs! that is, there are some aspects of the vlog that i enjoy and would like to replicate in my own way! 🙇🏻‍♀️

i’d definitely recommend this if you’re still unsure of the vlogging style you want to go for and you can also find various vlog tutorials on youtube if you’re unsure of where to start! 🪐

    — LAST BUT NOT LEAST 🙌🏻

at this stage, you would’ve already finished most parts of your vlog and it’s almost ready to be posted for the whole world to see! sounds exciting but remember to keep reviewing your vlog and ensure that everything looks good with no errors! if you’re planning to post them on youtube (just like what i did with this vlog), remember to think of a title and craft out a video description to give your audience a better idea of what they can expect from your vlog! you can also schedule the video or publish it right away😆

    — FINAL THOUGHTS 👩🏻‍💻

to sum it all up, i strongly encourage anyone who enjoys capturing moments to begin editing them into #videodiary for future reference! once you’ve finished editing it, it’s a very satisfying process, and it can be something for you to look back on visually! personally, i benefited from this by vlogging the majority of my 2022 outings on tiktok and now on youtube! while i don’t intend to post very frequently because it will be difficult on my school load, i will use it as a platform to explore and experiment with ways to make my vlogs not only aesthetic and relatable, but also make people know it’s me just by watching it!

with all being said, feel free to check out my december diaries vlog (the one that’s featured in this post) as well as my tiktok and youtube channel ! i’d be so happy if you could also show me some support by liking, commenting, sharing and/ or subscribing to it! 🤍
