hellu everyone! i’ve been busy studying for prelims, which means i’m trying to hit more study hours everyday to finish revising + build stamina for A levels prep! here is one of my study days in pictures, and tips to hit more hours in a day!!

9am-12pm: my friend and i started our study day at starbucks!! vivo starbucks is super big and spacious with multiple ports at the sofa seats, a pretty good study spot! they didn’t chase us out, so i could do my bio prelim paper and math papers in peace.

12pm-12.30pm: lunch break at mrs pho 😋😋 mrs pho (vivo branch) is handsdown the best pho, and it’s SUPER cheap at $8.80 with no gst or tax!! it’s definitely a lemon8 post i will make in the near future (yeah, it’s that good)

12.30pm-3.30pm: studied at harbourfront library for another 3 hours! one thing to note: you def should book your seats online before visiting the library!! i always see many people getting chased out, which def not conducive if you’re studying (and even more so if you’re doing a paper 😵‍💫😵‍💫) i didn’t book a seat but was super lucky as no one chased me out!

5pm-7pm: my friend had to leave for tuition, so i travelled with her and studied more at the coffee bean near her tuition place! it is def important to note: i don’t visit cafes everyday, and twice is too far fetched. it just so happened i did today 😀🤭 i think what’s important is having long study sessions with adequate breaks, and switching environments if it helps!

which brings me to my tips to lengthen your study days:

    1. work in blocks!

your study sessions should be long enough to finish papers, but not too long until you burn out for the day 😵‍💫 i work best with 2-3h blocks, but the length of each block is up to you!

    2. switch environments

i find studying in the same place for the whole day SUPER unconducive, but that might just be me! if that sounds like you, consider rotating between the library, your house and perhaps a cafe!

    3. study with friends

this is a hot take, and it really depends on the person. for example, i prefer studying myself most of the time, but this friend here is the only girl that can make me study 8h 😻 so if you find a friend/friend group that you can study with particularly well, keep studying with them!!

so yep, that’s all my tips for today! lmk in the comments what you think~
