Yes, there's no typo if you are wondering. So, you may be asking – why is it so long?

I was an NT student. So naturally, the only path I could go was ITE. In the past, ITE only offered 2 years of Nitec and 2 years of Higher Nitec. Well then, shouldn’t it be only 4 years? Why is there an extra year?

So, Here’s a summary of my ITE journey:

    – Nitec in Business Service (2017-2018)

    – Higher Nitec, Accounting, dropped out (2019)

    – Higher Nitec, Events Management (2020-2021)

Yes, I dropped out of ITE before! Which I will cover in another lemon8 post.

So, did I regret studying at ITE? 🤔 Instead of maybe taking a private dip.

    Simple answer is Nope, I never regretted studying at ITE!As to be really honest, it was the most fun 4 years of my life cause;

    1️⃣ I made lifelong friendships 💖

If i didn’t go to ITE, i wouldn’t have crossed paths with my girls. Going to school and class is 1000% more fun as we made so many memories together. Now, we are still closely knitted and “grown up” together as a group even though we had gone different paths in life.

    2️⃣ Discovered my passion 🏃🏻‍♀️

As I was doing side hustle on carousell, I wanted to learn more about business and entrepreneurship. So I joined the entrepreneurship club as my cca!

Through the cca, I managed the club business and ran events such as bazaars where we invited vendors into school for students to shop in school. This made me realize my passion for planning and running events. It was so fun and full of adrenaline rush!

3️⃣ To Network and being Mentored 👩🏻‍💻

Through ITE, I managed to meet and network with various people, and some became my mentors. I had a great mentor guiding me about the business/entrepreneur world, shoutout to Mr Rafael and my fellow seniors. During my internship, I managed to keep in close contact with my company and supervisors and still help run their events, shoutout to my managers at Pixo Events 😛

4️⃣ Prepared me for the working world and poly. 🥸

I felt that the modules, its knowledge and skills that I learnt have benefitted me tremendously when I'm working. For example, the Excel and Powerpoint i learnt in ITE – it helped me during my internship, which made me the go-to person for these tasks as i was efficient in it.

Besides work, it’s also helping my poly life as well. As for poly, there are similar modules that I had gone through in ITE. So, it helped me as a foundation for understanding the current modules that I'm currently studying.

    💭 End notes

If you unsure about going to ITE, I really recommend to take a leap of faith and try 😀 As for those who are going to ITE due to a similar path like myself, go in with an open heart as It will be a fun journey!

Just a heads up that ITE journey ain’t as long as my era. As in 2021, ITE announced a new list of courses where students can complete their ITE studies in 3 years’! You all are living a good life sia, so do check it out.

This post is not sponsored by ITE, btw. I just want to share my experience in ITE, where I will cover my dropout phase as well as ITE -> Poly life.

Anyway, i hope you like this first post. Do comment down below which post you would like to see next! 🤗
