A little pretty secret hideout from the common areas of Botanic Gardens.
📍 Location
Gallop Extension
Opposite 1, Tyersall Ave
🕰️ Hours:
Monday to Sunday 5am – 12am
Going to Botanic Gardens, the area near the MRT is always crowded with families, couples, etc. I found a spot where there are lesser people, & is much more peaceful if you wanna enjoy a romantic picnic. However, you’d need to drive in to this area, or take a Grab down, then walk for about 5 minutes to the White Bungalow where a big field greets you.
The White Bungalow, which is also the perfect spot to take photos is a 123-year-old colonial-era bungalow, the oldest surviving black-and-white one in Singapore. You can also enter the bungalow for free which is now a gallery known as the Forest Discovery Centre @OCBC Arboretum. Air-conditioned & spacious, you can take a break from the sun & learn a bit more about forest eco-systems.
I love the Gallop Extension because there’s so much peace within the park. It is also super clean & even well-lit at night with street lamps.
