I started using Lemon8 in September 2022, and Lemon8 provided an opportunity for small creators like myself to get in on the ground floor, including securing brand deals and receiving event invitations 💛
1️⃣ PROVIDE VALUE FOR YOUR AUDIENCE
Think about how to add value to your audience. Cover BREAKING NEWS, and identify CONTENT GAPS on the app. “Productivity” has always interested me, and I've actively searched for new hacks and tips on various applications like Xiaohongshu and TikTok. Back in May, I noticed a lack of similar content on Lemon8, so I decided to share some of the hacks like “Things You Didn’t Realise Apple’s Notes App Could Do”. The post performed well, so I continued creating similar content. The moral of the story: create content that helps your audience ACHIEVE, SOLVE problems, or BENEFIT in some way.
2️⃣ DEVELOP A CONTENT CALENDAR
Since September 2022, I've (almost) consistently created 20 monthly posts. Currently, I'm experiencing some social media burnout, but I can't deny the importance of having a consistent plan. A content calendar outlining your content creation days, publishing days, and content formats can help you maintain your content, especially when motivation is lacking. This strategy works well for me because I'm deadline-driven. I work from a calendar, arranging everything according to its due date. I personally use Trello to keep track of everything (P.S. it’s free!) 💰
3️⃣ TAG BRANDS TO (GET NOTICED &) LAND PARTNERSHIP
You never know how your content can lead to something bigger. For instance, I created posts like “Under-The-Radar Luxury Bags Under $1,000” and “How I Got My Authentic Designer Bag For Less.” Thanks to that post, I was invited to the Carousell Certified Luxury event. Therefore, create organic content and tag brands that you use and love; it could be your golden ticket to getting noticed by them.
For me, Lemon8 🍋 is a safe space where I can discover authentic and diverse content. I can’t wait to see how this app continues to flourish!
