Taro lovers, this cafe is for you 💜

☁️ Cafe Lilac by Whisking Bakes

Me and my friend have kept this on our cafe checklist for the longest time ✅

Nestled close to Lavender MRT station, this charming neighbourhood cafe is a dream come true for all taro enthusiasts. They have a wide array of taro-infused delights: cakes 🍰, tarts, and even taro sandwiches. You will be defo spoilt for choice. They also offer savoury dishes in case you were wondering!

    ☁️ Desserts

👉 Prices ranged mostly from $6.50 to $8

We ordered the taro mochi swiss roll and taro-misu.

Between the two, I enjoyed the taro-misu the most. Its creamy and moist texture combined with the delightful orh nee flavor left me wanting more 🤤 On the other hand, my friend couldn't get enough of the Swiss roll, primarily because she really loves mochi.

    ☁️ Drinks

    👉 Most drinks were $5.50 to $7

I had the taro einspanner while my friend had the taro latte (non-caffeinated).

The coffee was really strong and there were orh nee chunks at the bottom. My friend was really happy with her taro latte, which was super cute with its heart design at the top.

    ☁️ BEC Sando

👉 Mains ranged from $6.50 to $18, most dishes are $9.90

Given that I hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch that day and was aiming to avoid a sugar rush, I opted for a main dish 🥪 I ordered the BEC sandwich which includes bacon, vegetables, egg, and cheese. It turned out to be a good choice, but it was SUPER filling.

    ☁️ Space

The space was comfy and great for an afternoon catch up with friends. We went on a weekday and it was relatively quiet!

    ☁️ Overall rating: 8/10

I loved the experience and the lilac shade is ultra IG-worthy. But, I’d minus points because it’s an ulu walk if you’re unfamiliar with the area and there’s no toilet in the cafe.
