    Hello lemons 🍋,

I’m a HUGE fan of journaling or documenting my day to day life in a book ( just like lemon8 😛) so when I traveled by plane with my bf for the first time , I knew I wanted to document it.

My love for journaling started when I found a diary during my packing to move house at 17 years old , a diary little 8 years old Joanne wrote ( I wrote like 20 pages of entry but I got lazy and never continued ) & reading back makes me remember memories I had forgotten & laugh at what little Jo felt was “ the worst problem in my life “ 😂 which got me thinking that as I grow older I WILL forget all the smaller details in my life. I WILL forget days that didn’t make an impact in my life & I didn’t want that. I love the idea of reading through my diary and reading what younger me felt & went through & perhaps remembering things I may have forgotten as I grow older & her busier in the bigger things in life. So this is your sign to start your little journal journey 🤍

To start journaling, is actually really easy. You just need the basic materials I took photos of & you will slowly collect more stickers , pen, tapes , scrap papers etc along the way.

So just start off with a smaller range of materials so you don’t get too overwhelmed with too many OPTIONS.

It’s daunting to start journaling, EXPECTING it to be PERFECT. It wouldn’t be perfect, I made mistakes , I spelled things wrongly , I scribbled accidentally , pasted things wrongly but you will work your way around it as you go along. And just accept the imperfection because nobody is going to read these other than you 🤷🏻‍♀️ (and maybe your partner)

    HOW TO START 💭:

    • Prep work – I prepare my journaling by compiling all the photos that I took during the trip , so like day 1 i did this this this then i will compile those photos together and print in a A4 paper then Day 2 , Day 3 and so on. I prefer printing on paper purely because of the cost. It’s wayyyy cheaper to print on paper & it’s easier to cut. I also keep receipts from the trip no matter how RANDOM ( I literally tear out brand name from paper bags, hotel receipts , sometimes I keep the sleeves from drinks , seashells from beaches etc ) Really the most random things because more is better than less.

    • COVER – cover page is really up to you to design like if you have really good handwriting then make a big bold statement text but if you’re like me with a handwriting of a toddler … then rely heavily on photos and stickers better HAHAHA

or you can completely forgo a cover page as well, but this book will be a compilation of ALL my future travels so I wanted a cover page to kinda give it a proper split off point between each trip. So for Bangkok I did a simple Bangkok 2023 , 10th-14th , small cut out photos and stickers.

    • Content – I will take all of Day 1 items , the photos / receipts / trinkets & lay them out base on time. So example , for the one I did , first part was changing money so money photo & money changer receipts , then our flight there so flight photos and boarding pass. After that are arrival selfies , photos of the first things we ate -> lunch -> check in hotel -> shopping and so on.

    • Journaling -I just start off from the first page , corner of the book & start pasting photos first then I write small text like “ $$$ “ then I start to decorate around it by adding washi tape , stickers , little drawings… then I start the next part which is pasting plane Pictures , the ‘ Before flight selfie’ -> ‘during flight selfie’ then I will write text like “ first plane ride together “ / “ 6:30am “ / “ Boarding time “ & occasionally longer paragraphs about DETAILS like how the flight was like to fill in bigger gaps. The smaller gaps I will later fill in with decorations which are once again tapes , stickers , random drawings and so on.

    so my procedure is …

PHOTOS -> TEXT -> paragraph if I have something important to say -> DECO -> REPEAT.

Before you know it you’re done with day 1 then you start day 2 & so on until you are done ! & now you have a permanent compilation of your trip ✈️ !

I love love love this & I hope I have inspired some of you to start your own adventure book and journal ✨🤍

Links of all the materials I used are in the link in my bio under shoppee collections 🛍 you can definitely explore buying materials from taobao because it’s cheaper but remember to start small 🤍. If you have any other questions or want me to do a in-depth step to step or wants me to show my FULL journal materials , let me know !! Otherwise I shan’t bore you with journaling anymore 😳

Till next time , Joanne ☁️
