Bondee is honestly boring and a waste of time 🥱. Let me explain why.
I downloaded the app a few days ago when it was all the hype. I was honestly surprised that there really wasn’t much to do on the app. Here’s how the app functions:
🧝🏽♀️ Create an avatar. This is a no-brainer, and I thought the avatars looked really cute but nothing much besides that.
🏠 You can decorate your virtual room however you like. You can’t really interact with anything in the room besides uploading your photos into the photo frames and posters and sitting, standing or sleeping on the bed.
👯 Add friends from your contacts list/scan their user profile QR code/send an invite link.
💬 Update your status through text, photo, or the various actions. Your friends can view this and react/reply to it, but no one really interacts with statuses. You can also visit your friends’ rooms to stick post-it notes and chat through a messaging function — something I wouldn’t use since we have other communication platforms. The messaging function’s actions were entertaining, though. You can dance with your friend or even fart 💨🤭
🛶 Sailing at sea (4th photo) was the most boring, in my opinion. You can’t change directions — it sailed straight ahead only. You may find bottles thrown by others into the sea and reply to their messages or encounter random people at sea and wave at them. You may also win exclusive prizes like new furniture for your room or accessories for your avatar.
I feel like it would be great if users could navigate and travel to other islands to meet other users so that there are more opportunities to socialise.
What might be lacking in the app is an end goal or a motivating factor to encourage users to return to the app to achieve milestones. If additional updates make the app extra fun in the future, I’d definitely consider giving it another shot! 😗
