Over the weekend, I went to a pottery class for my friend’s “bachelorette party”. It was everyone’s first time doing it and can I say it was so fun!? More than expected. This may just be the start of my artsy era. 🤪

    📍 Location: The Potters’ Guilt | 195 Pearl's Hill Terrace, 01-03, Singapore 168976

    ✅ PRICE

I paid $88 for the Pottery Do-It-All class. This was 3 hours of the class, covering both wheel throwing (think the ghost movie), and handbuilding (think playing with play-doh). The classes are only held on Saturdays from 9am-12pm. That is their only slot. I think it was super worth it given that they covered both techniques of handbuilding and wheel throwing.

    ✅ EXPERIENCE

It was super fun! The instructors were super clear and passionate. Also they were super talented because they had to save my friends and I whenever our pieces collapsed/needed modification. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, I couldn’t have imagined a better session. The only downside was that as it is a group class (about 8 people per class?), we had to wait for the majority to arrive before we could start. So we ended up only starting at about 9:15 AM? Because other pairs came in late… but that’s honestly that was it.

    ✅ LOCATION

I know other pottery studios could be located in far away areas like Jalan Bahar, or Ubi, but this one is located super centrally. It was partly the reason why we chose this studio in particular! Only a 5-10 min walk away from Chinatown MRT.

    ✅ TAKE HOME

The best part of this workshop is of course the fact that you can take these pieces home! They cost an additional $10 for every piece you decide to get glazed. I took back all four pieces I made, just because. I think it would make a super cute gift for friends who have just moved into their #bto or even to include in your own home! BUT PLS TAKE NOTE, YOU WONT GET THE PIECES BACK IMMEDIATELY. The wait time is 2-3 months….. 🥲

    🫠 IMPORTANT TIP

CUT YOUR NAILS BEFORE CLASS. This was a mistake on my part, coming in with a manicure 🥲 it really hindered the way I was able to create the pieces on both the wheel, as well as during the handbuilding session.

⭐️ VERDICT: 100% will return. I’m gonna bring J here to try the exact same class as well. Super cute date idea IMO! I was even considering taking their pottery course (>$500++) which runs over 8 weeks. That was how much fun I had. I highly recommend if you’ve always wanted to try, this place is it!!
