i had my early birthday celeb w my bf @ col last weekend and had the best time ever💋

mushroom risotto balls:

this dish wasn’t on their menu but they were getting people to taste it for reviews but omg it was my fav thing i ate at this place bc i love risotto & the crispy texture that coated the risotto was actually so amazing bc it tasted SO much btr than it looks!!!!!! my bf rlly liked it too so hehe i hope they add this to their menu and i’ll def come bk for more ^.^

wood-oven baked gnocchi:

this was what i came for bc i saw that it was butternut flavored which im a huge fan of so i had to try it.. and it def didn’t disappoint! the flavor of the butternut was just nice and not too overpowering😋 but i didn’t rlly fancy the bunch of rocket leaves ontop of the dish bc i find it q bitter in general but it’s ok coz i js put it to one side HAHA my fav was the small chunks of butternut w walnuts bc it complimented this dish rlly well tgt

COL burger:

my bf ordered a burger bc he’s a basic bitch but i thought the patty was so huge honestly like i prob couldn’t finish the whole burger myself BUT I DIDNT TAKE A PIC OF IT bc my bf devoured it so quickly :<

the burger was quite red in the middle so for those who want it more well done mayb u can make a request but personally i eat my steak as rare as possible so😀 it was yummy to me. my bf didn’t love the hot sauce ketchup in the burger coz he said it was kinda sour but that being said, means i liked it bc i love everything sour LOL tuff take on this dish bc of our contrasting opinions…

our waiter was super friendly and soo nice, he made sure we had the best experience!!! he even prepared a plate of sorbet dessert since i was celebrating my birthday😭 so sweet of them & the sorbet was so bomb and refreshing af yum

☆ ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

this place was a lot bigger than i expected and i loved the dim lighting sm, it rlly did represent classy yet casual london restaurants so it was rlly nice🎀

☆ overall

i had such a good time here and i enjoyed the food + my cake which we got from a nearby cake shop, fieldnotes! i think it’s a great place to celebrate any occasions since they have tables for both larger groups and couples :3

hanging out with friends but don’t know what to do? i gotchuu ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

here are some ideas:

✩ haji lane- there are so many things in haji lane to check out! a perfect photo op location and there are lots of photo booths as well (recently a new 0.5x concept booth opened there)! there’s also a dog cafe “what the pug” and multiple popular cafes to check out:) if you like thrifting or reworked clothing, there’s plenty shops for you here!

✩ sentosa- for a more laid back day, i’d recommend cycling around sentosa and visiting the beaches there! you could even cycle back into the city (to vivo) on your way back. for indoor activities, the aquarium is a nice visit too. just watching the many sea creatures and jellyfish float and swim around is so calming.

✩ brunch/high tea- my friends and I rarely meet early enough for breakfast so we love to get brunch when we can— also saving the cost of two meals into one instead hehe. if you’re feeling a little more fancy, you can go for afternoon tea!

✩ 24 hr cafe- this new cafe that opened up last month is a 24 hour cafe! they serve their handcrafted stretchy ice cream in various unique flavours. they also serve all-day breakfast and drinks as well:)

✩ rooftop bars- there are so many bars but when my friend came to visit sg, we went to Lantern at The Fullteron Bay Hotel and we had the best view (imo). Overlooking the Marina Bay waterfront and the city skyline, we had a great time catching up. Service was good too and the food portions were big!

hii! it’s been pretty long since i’ve posted but i need to make this CRUCIAL post rn😇

let me give some context here ‼️i’m 17, so i get pimples pretty frequently. these pimples come and go due to my changing sleep schedule, diet, and most importantly stress. that’s pretty normal for me as a teen and i’ve learnt to accept it ~ i’ve also never dared to tried products such as retinol, eye cream, anti-aging products since i consider them pretty strong for me at this age.

so how did i know i damaged my own skin using skincare? my skin was doing alright before using skincare, and definitely improved when i had a skincare routine. but because of that, i became more aggressive with wanting to make my skin better (especially with tiktok trends going around) so i added more things to my skincare routine. this includes the 2 skincare items shown in the second slide 🙃

❌ when i first started using the mandelic acid (by swiping it with a cotton pad on my face), i already felt it stinging. i saw multiple reviews saying the same thing but apparently it gets better when your skin is used to it. so i tried again by using a cotton pad to dab on my skin instead, and it was in fact okay. i did see short term results like better skin complexion and texture. but as i continued using it in the long run, i realised that this was stripping my skin barrier & just not suitable for my sensitive skin.

❌ i made a post about this numbuzin essence on how it worked like magic for me, and it really did. just after a week of using it, i saw huge improvement in my skin texture and it felt a lot softer. the mistake i made was using the 3-layer toner method with this product. the next day, i got acne on my cheeks everywhere. at first i thought it may be hormonal, but realistically if it happened overnight there was no way it was hormonal? i also started doing my research and realised this product contains a lot of fermented ingredients— so especially using 3 layers of this was definitely too much for my skin to handle. if you intend on purchasing this product, i would recommend to use it moderately!

as of now, i’ve just been sticking to my basic 3 step skincare routine to let my skin heal. as much as i love skincare, i definitely learnt my lesson to:

1) check if it is suitable for your skin type

2) use products moderately, especially if it contains actives like AHA, BHA, or this essence

3) less is more. don’t strip your natural skin barrier!

🌿 Finally got my own room, and let me tell you, turning it into my personal sanctuary was a dream come true! 🏡✨Here’s what went into my ROOM INSPO~

Here are some exercises you can do to help achieve your first pull up!

🧗🏻Hanging shrugs

This exercises helps you better understand how to engage your back for the pull up! A lot of beginners who are not aware of this will be relying on their arm strength to perform the pull up. The problem with this is that it develops a bad habit and you don’t utilise a bigger muscle which is your back.

🎢Incline pull ups

This exercise helps develop your arm strength for the pull up. The benefit of this exercise is that it is easily scalable to make the exercise easier or harder. By putting your feet further in front it makes the exercise harder and putting your feet behind it makes the incline pull up easier.

💪🏻Band assisted pull ups

This exercise helps you to learn te technique of the pull up and give you assistance to do the pull up. It is important that for this exercise, you progressively overload by using bands of lesser resistance. I would recommend doing 6-8 reps for 3 sets, if you are able to do 8 for all 3 sets you should use a thinner band.

If you have extra mushrooms lying around in your fridge, this recipe is a delicious and creative way to make use of them! With just a few additional ingredients, you can make this miso mushroom sourdough toast for breakfast or as midday snack.

ingredients:

1 pack brown mushrooms

1 heaping tsp miso paste

1 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp butter

2 slices of sourdough bread

cream cheese

directions:

cut washed mushrooms into thin slices and set aside.

In a small bowl, add in miso paste, maple syrup, soy sauce and a splash of water and mix till it is well combined.

heat up a pan on medium heat, add in a tsp of butter and let it melt and coat the pan.

Proceed to add in the mushrooms and sauté till the mushrooms are cooked. add in the miso mixture into the mushrooms and cook till it reduces. Once it is ready, set the mushrooms aside.

toast 2 slices of sourdough and spread a generous amount of cream cheese on both slices of bread. top it of with the miso mushrooms and it’s ready to be served!
