✨️Your watercolor set up includes MORE THAN paint, paper and brushes.

🙃I’d admit, when I first did watercolor – I just had these 3 items on my desk and did not use a spray bottle nor a paper towel. I knew that these helped and were necessary tools but I did not use them until I noticed how my paints did not move in ways I wanted or I had a hard time controlling the water in my art.

💧Having these 2 tools can help with the ‘water’ aspect in watercolor.

🖌Many beginners think that by having a wet brush and rubbing it against the paints – it is enough to activate the paints. This is false because when paints dry and harden, that hardened paint takes time to activate and become ‘watery’ enough to be used in your painting. Not activating your paints would result in paints that have less movement when they touch water on the paper.

🖌The paper towel is your most valued player (MVP) in watercolor. Watercolor being a water medium means that you need something to help control it to prevent your paper from buckling, dry off excess water from your brush, remove excess paint from your brush, dry up spots in your palette.

In my opinion – these are 2 tools that many beginners leave out and having it close by can improve the success of your paintings
