I’ve never been to a concert prior to The 1975 in Bangkok & I was super stoked about it! The tickets cost $244 for the standing pen & I didn’t really know what to expect… but I knew I wanted to capture it on the camcorder I borrowed from a friend!
I did my little check on how legal it was to bring such a device in & I knew it would be risky but I still tried to bring it in anyways; here’s when my adventure begin…
I was stopped by the security right when we were doing bag checks, and I was pulled aside. I wasn’t scared but I was more disappointed that I wasn’t gonna be allowed to bring it in… but suddenly I realised all the guards were turned away from me because the crowd was simply too much for them to handle & then it dawned on me that if I ran in & mixed myself amongst the crowd that was already in the arena, they would never find me again… I acted on my intrusive thoughts and made a run for it & that’s how I ended up with a really cool concert experience with snippets of it on a camcorder with 70x zoom!
I wouldn’t recommend doing this & I wouldn’t do it again but it was sort of a once in a lifetime thing for me to try & I’m glad I did because they performed all their best songs & it was just the best experience yet!
Moral of the Story: If you’re not harming anyone, sometimes it’s okay to bend the rules a little (don’t quote me) You really are young once & you only have that many first times, so just make the most of it with no regrets 🙂
