hi all! my first post is dedicated to… ACNE. before i start, i’d like to preface that acne isn’t something to be ashamed of because SOO MANY people struggle with it so nobody is ever alone🫶🏻

i’ve struggled with acne since i was 12… so it’s a longtime coming that i’ve finally cleared my acne! i’ve probably spent $1k 💸💸 on trying out so many skincare products but each time let to more purging and worsened skin…
then i decided to finally see a dermatologist 🩺and she initially recommended me to go on probiotics before going to the extreme solution- acutane/ oratane/ isotretinoin. 💊
probiotics DID NOT ❌ work for me so i went on oratane! (have been on it for almost 11 months now too~)
-experience & results-
i was warned of the possible side effects of the medication which include possible (but extremely rare) depression and DRYYYY lips 👄 (mine were so chapped ☹️☹️ but yes this is by far THE MOST COMMON side effect). i also experienced lethargy which could also be attributed to my PCOS that i identified through going on oratane 😅 so that’s just my experience, please take it with a pinch of salt ☺️
definitely, it won’t be a linear journey on oratane because your skin might purge first! lucky for me i didn’t purge that much 😮💨 (but if you do, don’t worry! IT ALWAYS GETS BETTER) and it did for me! now, i don’t really get any active pimples and my skin is relatively clear! i’m pretty much only dealing with my deep scars~~
note:
it takes time to see results so it’s always best to take progress pics ☺️ try to eat cleaner and drink more water to facilitate better results 😌
overall verdict:
i would definitely recommend taking charge of your skin and consulting a dermatologist if your skin troubles persist and gets worse. though pricey, it’s definitely an investment for one’s confidence and overall well-being! (one less thing to worry about) Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:
