Hey Zesties! In my recent JB trip, my bestie and I stumbled upon this really cute cafe (on the way to Soil cafe). It was at the foot of the hill where Soil cafe was at. So this was destination No. 2 after Soil Cafe.

The cakes were sooooo cute that we had to try them. As y’all know, JB prices are really affordable so these cakes were no exception. For the work put in to shape these cakes, it was definitely worth it.

They had so many types, bear shaped one, Marc Jacobs perfume bottle, peach shaped one and even Mt Fuji!! I think the stock will vary on different days. But we eventually decided on the Rose Watermelon cake, with and entire slice of watermelon wedged in between and also the perfume bottle one (Azure) that had apple bits inside. It was really quite sweet tho, so it was a biiit hard to finish. However, it could also be because we’ve just had food from Soil Cafe so our sweetness sensory was probably overloaded by then.

I would still recommend you to drop by if you’re looking for a cute cake cafe to try in JB!! ✨✨

Hey guys! I hope you guys are doing well so far. Sometimes I get so sad when I spend money on the product that I’ve been really looking forward to trying, only for it to not end up working out for me. I feel like we still my skin sort of to become super sensitive because a lot of products are not working well with me anymore. Unfortunately, these two products that I’m gonna be talking about did not really work for me, so I wanted to give you guys my opinion on them.

I tried the Alpyn beauty wild crafted actives plant, genius line filling eye cream. This cream honestly made no difference to my under eyes. I feel like I wasted $60 on a product that could’ve done a lot more. It was super lightweight and made no difference in my fine lines.

The second product is KIEHLS targeted acne solution liquid patch. I heard a lot of good things about this product but for me unfortunately it did not work out. It actually burned my skin and it did not do any difference to my acne. Let me know if these products worked out for you! 🥰

🩵Bioré UV Watery Essence

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

– As its name suggests, it’s very watery and lightweight

– Very EASY to blend in

– Very suitable to wear under makeup

– No white cast (I don’t have pale skin)

– Contains fragrance and alcohol🥲 (new version has lighter scent and lower alcohol content) but my sensitive skin is ok with it!

– Doesn’t break me out

🩵Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

– Texture almost identical with Bioré. Lightweight and watery

– has semi matte finish (oily skin might love it!)

– blends in so good (very suitable to wear under makeup)

– sweat and water proof👍👍

– Doesn’t break me out

They are both suitable to wear in SG hot and humid weather🤗

recently came across this store in united square and can i say i REALLY love jellycats!! they’re of incredible quality and are the cutest stuffed toys ive ever come across 🤍 so if you have a gf and don’t know what to get her – no girl will say no to a jellycat, just get her one that reminds you of her 🙈

this store has a whole variety of jellycats and i’m was considering getting the rose dragon 🥹 they have most of the collections and are located in a pretty central location which i think is a plus!! 🌟

however, STORYTIME ⚠️⚠️ the staff there was really unfriendly 💀 the old lady working there had the most irritated expression while i was taking photos of the jellycats (i was sending them to a friend) even though i always put them back in place neatly so as to not trouble her… i also snapped 2-3 quick photos (used in this post) because i wanted a reference for which i could get the next time i was back AND she suddenly shouted “I THINK THATS ENOUGH PHOTOS😡😡” and i was extremely confused as the store didn’t have a no photo policy and nothing was being messed up nor did i get in the way of anyone (the store was empty)

she just made the experience pretty ass for me so i ended up leaving and not getting anything 😳 nevertheless i’ve been here a few times and the other staff have always been really helpful and welcoming!

maybe try not to come here on fridays like i did ☹️ i might come back another day to get the jellycat after i’ve decided! 🤭

During my summer exchange in Korea, I’ve no doubt splurged and experimented with different beauty products and here are some of my top picks from OliveYoung – most of them were actually recommended by OliveYoung employees!

FYI: I have combination skin but I have certain areas (eg. around my nose and corners of my mouth) that get dry really easily.

1️⃣ Dr.G Dermamoisture Barrier.D Daily Lotion

🌟 3-in-1 lotion: Barrier protection, Moisturiser, Anti-aging

✅ Absorbs into the dry skin PERFECTLY. A must-have if you have dry skin or when you’re travelling in winter. Korea gets especially humid in the summer so this worked SO WELL for me during my exchange there.

❎ Gets slightly oily when I use it in SG (probably due to my own wonky skin) but it works great for the dry areas of my face so I just avoid using it on the rest of my face.

2️⃣ Angel Aqua Moisture Sun Cream

🌟 Vegan formula

✅ Leaves little to no white cast on my skin. Absorbs really well. Light and cool cream texture.

❎ Has fragrance but I personally don’t mind it because it smells nice. 🙂

3️⃣ Dr.G Green Mild Up SUN+

🌟 Viral skincare product in Korea

✅ Absorbs into my skin super well. Feels light and not cakey. No fragrance.

❎ Leaves a tiny bit of white cast but it blends into your skin really nicely when you rub it in more – perfect for those who want to have glass skin.

4️⃣ Avène Gentle Toning Lotion

🌟 Very popular amongst Koreans (according to an OliveYoung employee)

✅ Super gentle on my skin. Tighten my pores without making it hard to move my facial muscles. An essential for those who want Korean glass skin. Also I personally love the packaging hehe.

❎ Slightly on the expensive side but WORTH IT.

MY EVERYDAY MORNING ROUTINE!

Wake up at 5am preparing myself to go to the gym

After gym, work 8-5pm

After work going to fetching my boy at 6pm

After that cooking dinner for us and playing with him and then have some time for myself to edits videos, after that we sleep at 10.30pm

Being a working mom it’s not easy, but remember that you’re a great role model 🫶🏼

“Finding your balance”

– The trouble with a balancing act is that you always feel like you’re behind. There’s always a school bus to catch, a diaper to change, or an important work need to do. And this can often lead to self-blame. It’s too easy to feel like a bad employee for having to leave the office early or like a bad mom for being late picking up your kid from school. If you find the perfect ratio of time and energy, you might think that everything will get done easily and on time.

But that’s not how the world works.

Life isn’t a math problem, and a good work-life balance is rarely as simple as devoting X hours to work and X hours to your family.

Really, “balance” is about being where you’re needed when it matters most. And this changes quickly and frequently, depending on what’s happening in your life or at work.

And it’s very important to have a supportive partner

It’s important to support each other in any situation.

Here are my two cents🥹

I went back to Old Airport Rd Hawker Centre again for lunch and came across this relatively new Korean Stall, Wooga. I didn’t know what to eat at that time so I just went ahead and tried it (Best decision I have ever made that day😩). This Jjajangmyeon brought me back to the time I ate Jjajangmyeon in Korea🇰🇷. It was so good that it instantly became one of my favourite stalls at Old Airport Rd Hawker Centre.

Wooga Jjajangmyeon started their operations on National Day🇸🇬. Their chef is a Korean who inherited the method of cooking Jjajangmyeon from his father. Their menu features only 2 items, their signature Jjajangmyeon and Kal-guksu(Best way I can describe it is Korean Banmian). Their food is very affordable🤑, considering that most of the Korean food you can find in Singapore are located in shopping malls or town areas.

You can add $0.50 for kimchi. Their kimchi🥬does add a hint of sourness to the dish when mixed. If you don’t really like to eat kimchi or sour things, just get the original one. Make sure to mix the sauce well to enjoy the full experience of eating Jjajangmyeon.

🐷🫃Bulgogi Pork Belly Jjajangmyeon(💵$8):

I have eaten this twice. The first time was when I ordered take away and was mind-blown in my office, and the second time was when I went down to eat as I decided to post this. Upon taking my first bite, memories of eating Jjajangmyeon in a Korean shop kept flowing into my brain🥹. Each strand of noodle was coated in their sweet and savoury black bean sauce and it tasted exactly like what you would get if you were to order a bowl in Korea. The onions🧅 were cooked till it was soft and sweet, the noodles🍜 were chewy, and their bulgogi pork belly🐷 was charcoal grilled and it tasted a little like bakkwa. There was also a charred aroma cloaking the dish. I don’t know if it was from their charcoal grilled pork belly or the sauce itself but it gave the dish and extra oomph! Every part of this dish was so good I couldn’t stop slurping away at the noodles😩.

🐷Bulgogi Kal-guksu(💵$7):

I ordered this for takeaway as my office was nearby. But I will recommend that this is eaten at the hawker centre for the best experience as you don’t want to eat soggy noodles. This is a hearty and warm dish that you would eat on rainy days. I ate this in my cold ass office and was embraced by the warmth of this dish. This brought me back to when I ate Kal-guksu in May when Korea was below 20 degrees celsius🥶 and I had to look for something to keep my weak ass warm. This dish was chock-full of onion, kelp, seaweed, cucumber, and warmth🔥! The noodles were springy yet soft, and the soup was savoury with a hint of sourness. It was a really good dish that fills you with nutrients and warmth that makes you miss your loved ones’ embrace🥲.
