One of my most worn items in my closet is this versatile white tank top — arguably a must-have in your capsule wardrobe.

Especially for Singapore’s hot and humid climate, the tank top is a great base to wear on its own, or to layer with.

This one I have on is from Cotton On (The 91 Tank). I am a UK 8-10 and fit well into their S/M size. S would have a tighter fit but the material is quite stretchy.

It’s been washing well so far. And I wear it REALLY OFTEN. The colour has not faded yet either on my black coloured one.

if you’re looking for a place to get dinner + dessert without so much of a budget in mind 💸, tanjong pagar is honestly one of the places to go! ☁️🐸 it’s definitely one of me & my friends’ favourite hang out spots, just because there are so many food choices available there 🤤

over the years, we’ve visited these restaurants multiple times now, & their food have never failed to put a smile on our faces! here are our favourite places to go:

🌱 lad & dad:

– one of the best uk-style fish and chips in sg 🎣

– superrrr duperrrrr crunchy batter, generous filling of fish

– green pea mash was actually quite good too, even though we did not like green peas 🫛

– outdoor sitting, no air conditioning 🥵 (bad for hot n humid nights…)

– ~$30

🌱 blue label pizza:

– MY FAV PIZZA PLACE!!!!! 🍕😋

– amazing ambience, super nice for date nights!!!!

– my fav pizza was “the white label”, which was sooo sinful but so yummy.. 😭😭 the goat cheese was surprisingly not as game-y as I expected, & went really well with the leeks!

– the honey garlic sriracha chicken wings 🍗 are a good side to order, as well as the state fare fries 🍟 (the truffle taste could be stronger tbh)

– ~$40 per pax

🌱 quiec by olivia:

– THE BEST cheesecake in sg I swear 😭

– the texture of this cheesecake is unlike no other, it’s molten in the middle & absolutely creamy, melts in your mouth!!! 🥺🤤💦

– perfect balance of texture & taste, not too strong/ mild!!!!

– $16++ (not incl gst & service charge) for a slice, but i’m honestly willing to pay for this amazing cheesecake.

🌱 red holic:

– for all tteokbokki lovers!!! 🤭

– the tteokbokki was sooo chewy i loved it so much!!!

– we got their signature plain tteokbokki in original spicy to share (2-3 pax) & it had the perfect amount of spice 🌶️ (my friend who can’t take spice was dying slightly, but she enjoyed it a lot)

– we added on a pork cutlet, which soaked up the thick sauce & tasted sooo good!!!!!

– ~$20 per pax

🌱 dopa dopa:

– one of my fav gelato places!

– hand-made gelatos that were made from their specialty nut paste

– super fresh as these are made daily, & kept in these metal tins so you know they’re legit ✨

– their roasted pistachio is a crowd favourite~

-❣️they let you try try their flavours before buying!!!

– try to go slightly earlier as they get pretty crowded (around 8:30pm)

– ~$6 per scoop

🌱 apiary:

– decent ice cream, not my fav but one of my go-tos

– blue milk (a bit too sweet for me, but quite interesting!) & apiary (honey + cacao nibs) are my favs!! their pistachio is pretty good also

– i love their cones! 🍦

i have so many more favourite places that I frequent in Tanjong Pagar area, but these are truly my top places over the years! 🫶 there’s so much variety of food there, & i can’t wait to try them all!!! 💸🥺

Hey friends! If you’re the type to go for beauty treatments (hair treatments, facials, etc), you’ll know that the salespeople at these places can be very pushy.

If you go for a cheap trial, they’ll ALWAYS pressurize you to buy and sign for a large package, often costing thousands of dollars.

And regardless of what you tell them, they seem to always have a way of countering it.

For example, if you say it’s too expensive, they’ll say:

– “It’s an investment in your skin/hair/XX! Don’t you want to take care of yourself?”

– “You can pay by installments on your credit card.”

– “You don’t have the luxury of not doing this, your skin/hair/XX really needs it.”

But I’ve came up with a FOOLPROOF way of shutting them up.

Whenever I say this one thing, they honestly have nothing much to say and they just let me go after that.

Just say… “Cannot la, my husband/wife will scold me.”

(It doesn't matter whether you are married, in a r/s, or single. Just blame it on your “husband” or “wife”!)

I’ve tried this multiple times and EVERY TIME, it works like a charm.

The consultant/salesperson normally stops pressurising me and I can escape easily after that 😛

Next time you’re faced with a pushy salesperson, give this a try!

If you’ve been on SG Tiktok in around 2022, this authentic rice cake shop went viral for their tasty handmade ricecakes🤩

I happened to be around Beauty World on a Thursday afternoon, remembering the glory of this shop✨

Its now 2023, let’s see if these rice cakes are still worth the hype!

My friend and I got the 인절미(Injeolmi) and 송편(Songpyeon) rice cakes for a total of $10. Each box of rice cakes is $5! Here’s my verdict:

‼️9/10‼️(-1 because it’s inconvenient for me to travel here😭)

When I first encountered the shop, there was nobody there and the shop looked a little, ‘not ready to open’ (for lack of better wording, sorry) so I wasn’t really sure how the experience would go… BUT! We still decided to give it a try since we’re there already. There were a few variety of rice cakes displayed on the table and when we were looking around, a staff came to serve us and shared about the rice cakes.

For the taste itself, BOTH were good! Though I prefer the Injeolmi because it was more merciful on my tastebuds(I have old man’s tastebuds….)

Injeolmi:

10/10 amazing texture, literal definition CHEWY. You’d think mochi is chewy, but you’re wrong. This rice cake IS chewy. The peanut was just the right amount of flavour too, not too sweet and not too bland<3

Songpyeon:

9/10 once again, the texture was godsend. Other than that, the flavour was slightly stronger than injeolmi, and got a bit gelat(sian) towards the end(so I alternated between the rice cakes lol)

Overall experience:

HELL YEA, totally worth the hype though it died down… ANYWAYS, if you’re around the area, highly recommended for y’all to check it out and give it a try!

Side note: I sat near the store whilst eating the rice cakes and there were many Korean families and women(mainly) who came to buy the shops’ rice cakes, and conversed with the staff and the boss in Korean. Considered me sold that these rice cakes are TOP TIER🔥 if Koreans buy the rice cakes from them.
